The LA Fitness Expo was held in Los Angeles, California at the end of January and was an absolute blast. I love industry shows – meeting new people, rubbing elbows with some of my idols, and seeing other girls from the IFBB Pro circuit is always a treat. This year’s show boasted several hundred exhibitors, thousands of fans, and tonnes of great events.
I snuck away from my booth to watch my friend and fellow IFBB competitor Erin Stern participate in the BodySpace Spokesmodel Finals which were held on the main stage and she placed 2nd. That's her in the picture with me. It was a wonderful experience! |

Balancing lifestyle and work has become increasingly difficult these past few months. Work has been extremely demanding and it is often hard to get in the training sessions I plan for the week. But, I love my field and truly believe that concerted effort is rewarded in spades. As I am not travelling again until the Arnold, I have time to focus on my friends and family (including my adorable pup Oscar) and make the most out of this last Canadian, winter months. Of course, I’ll also be spending more time updating my site, working on new projects, and preparing for our SAF Fit Camp in April. |

2009 was a tough year for me in terms of improvements. I had a nagging wrist injury from some bicep curls gone wrong and I also managed to pop a rib out in the spring which sidelined me for most of the summer. 2010 is looking much better as I charge into February with tonnes of energy, lots of focus, and a solid competition preparation plan.
With the Arnold only four weeks away, I have a month to hone in my physique and make it ‘trade show’ worthy and make some improvements along the way. I am also completely in love with plyometrics! I do them every Thursday morning at 6:15 am and they kick my butt right through to the weekend. Another positive swing on this great workout is that I am really improving, and also recruiting several of my gym buddies to join me!
